high-brow culture

Last night I went to see Derek Jacobi in "King Lear" in London, here in town. Yes, we have a cinema that is connected to the worldwide satellite broadcasting of opera, theatre and other cultural expressions. I've never been to one before -- just to the cinema, which is where the trekkers currently have their meets -- and boy! It's not at all one of my favourite plays and there was a lot of shakesperean shouting but also moments of shivers down the spine and tears in the eye.
So now I've already booked two more shows. First up, "Frankenstein" and then, "Die Walküre". The latter is five hours long... And the cinema ppl didn't joke when they said these shows get sold out almost immediately!
